Chief Justice Martha Koome Feted with African Female Leader of the Year Award 2023
Chief Justice Martha Koome received the African Female Leader of the Year Award 2023 at a ceremony in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on Friday, March 15th.
During her acceptance speech, Martha Koome expressed that the acknowledgment represented the combined commitment and endurance of people working towards excellence across the continent.
“This award is not mine alone to claim. It is an accolade that I dedicate wholeheartedly to the institution I am privileged to lead, the Judiciary of Kenya,” Koome stated.
The Chief Justice also stressed the importance of renewing commitments to Africa’s progress, promoting a culture of high standards, and building systems and institutions that prioritize the needs of everyone.
She additionally urged renewed dedication to advancing Africa’s development, fostering a culture of achievement, and establishing effective systems and institutions that genuinely serve the interests of the populace.
“This recognition spurs us to persist in our pursuit of leadership excellence and to relentlessly enhance the quality of service delivery by our institutions,” Koome stated.
