How Woman Found With Bible Strapped to Her Chest in Nakuru Died
A subsequent examination has disclosed that the female discovered deceased in her sibling’s residence in Nakuru City last week succumbed to starvation.
The lifeless body of Rosemary Wahu, aged 60, was discovered in an advanced state of decomposition within her brother’s residence at the YMCA Estate, with a Bible fastened to her chest.
Dr. Titus Ngulungu, the state pathologist who performed the autopsy, stated that the findings indicated the deceased had experienced dehydration.
As per Dr. Ngulungu’s findings, it was indicated that the individual might have passed away approximately two weeks before being found. This conclusion was drawn from the observable signs of mummification, a process that occurs when the body undergoes dehydration.
The pathologist also determined that there were no visible external or internal injuries on the body, indicating a gradual and agonizing demise, worsened by a lack of sustenance.
Dr. Ngulungu stated that Wahu’s stomach, intestines, and bowels were empty.
Lacked glucose
“As a result of my examination, I think that the cause of death was dehydration and hypoglycemia, the body lacked glucose as she did not eat. The skin was peeling off and it appears that the body was being washed,” said Dr Ngulungu.
As per Dr. Ngulungu, the individual’s body was transported to the facility with the Bible placed on her chest, and the staff were notified about her diabetes.
David Kinyanjui, the older brother of Wahu, and another woman are currently detained about the fatality.

Initial police inquiries indicated that the duo waited for Wahu’s ‘resurrection’ until her additional family members entered the residence and discovered her lifeless body.
As per Boniface Mungai, the son of Wahu, she departed from her residence in Gatundu, Kiambu County, in January to visit her uncle. However, she subsequently ceased communication.
The community is in a state of shock following the unsettling revelation of her severely decomposed remains.
As per Samwel Ngeinywo, the head of the Criminal Investigation Department in Nakuru East, the pair was brought to court last Thursday, and investigators were granted two weeks to finalize their inquiries.
