DCI Intercept Drug Ring Near Multimedia University, Unearth Bhang Hidden in Sacks
On Tuesday, March 5th, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) provided a description of how its personnel apprehended a suspected drug syndicate in the vicinity of Multimedia University last week.
In a release, the DCI provided specifics that a specialized unit was dispatched along the Ongata Rongai Road on the designated day, and they successfully intercepted a vehicle transporting individuals suspected of involvement in drug dealing.
Authorities explained that the specialized squad, comprised of members from the anti-narcotics division, received additional support from the Operations Support Unit to boost effectiveness.
During the operation, the DCI stated that the car was in close proximity to the university and had one woman and two men inside.
The individuals were promptly removed from the car, while the officers conducted a comprehensive search of the sedan.
The DCI provided a thorough account stating that the operation resulted in finding cannabis concealed in two sacks tucked away in the car’s trunk.
“A search conducted in the vehicle saw four bales of bhang stashed on two sacks recovered, and another two bales were discovered at the home of one of the suspects when the investigations were extended there,” the DCI stated.
The police stated that they promptly placed the drugs into evidence and requested custodial orders to measure and analyze the substances.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) approximated the illicit substance’s street worth at Ksh19 million.
“She was nabbed at the said homestead in an operation conducted by a joint team of DCI detectives backed up by their K9 Isebania Border Post counterparts.
“In the stealth operation, 9 sacks of Cannabis sativa sticks and another 8 containing the unrefined drug were found at various concealed spots by the help of a sniffer dog,” the DCI stated.
