Mayfair Holdings Amini Gilani Dies
Amin Gilani, the proprietor of Mayfair Holdings, passed away as announced in a condolence statement issued by Kisumu Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o on Monday, March 4th.
Nyong’o disclosed that the billionaire entrepreneur and philanthropist passed away two days ago while undergoing medical care in the United Kingdom.
Praising the entrepreneur, he commented that Amin significantly influenced the economy of Kisumu by generating employment opportunities.
“Gilani’s sudden demise in the United Kingdom on March 2, has robbed this County of a great investment partner,” he eulogized.
“His business enterprises employed hundreds of people and contributed greatly to Kisumu County’s investment profile, especially in the tourism and manufacturing sectors.”
Recording the final moments, Nyong’o mentioned that he had recently bid farewell to Gilani’s spouse, who was en route to London, UK, to reunite with her husband.

He expressed empathy towards the family who had lost their patriarch, the proprietor of one of Kenya’s longest-standing business chains.
In 1967, the Gilani family established Mayfair Holdings Limited to boost the economic development of Kisumu and its surrounding areas, as stated by the founding member of the Gilani family.
The business, with a workforce of nearly 800 individuals, has made substantial investments in the food and hospitality sector.
Mayfair Holdings is the proprietor of one of the well-liked bread labels in the Nyanza and Western areas.
Moreover, the corporation possesses a luxurious five-star hotel situated in the central area of Kisumu City, along with further ventures in the real estate sector.
The corporation also possesses an extensive storage facility that traders utilize to expedite the shipment of fresh produce through Kisumu International Airport for export.
