British Woman Dies in Road Accident Hours After Arriving in Kenya for Vacation
A British woman and her friend lost their lives in a tragic accident shortly after arriving in Kenya for a holiday.
The pair lost their lives instantly in a collision between the vehicle they were in and a truck on February 9, along the Naivasha – Nakuru highway.
“The British national who was visiting the country and one male died on the spot while their driver was seriously injured and was admitted to the sub-county hospital, ” Stephen Kirui, Naivasha Police officer commented.
Early inquiries suggested that upon her arrival, the woman was collected from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, and together with another individual, they proceeded towards Nakuru in the morning.
Yet, as they approached Naivasha, the vehicle they were in veered out of its lane, resulting in a collision with a truck heading in the direction of Nairobi.

The collision resulted in the immediate death of the two foreign individuals, while the truck driver was urgently transported to Naivasha sub-county hospital in severe condition.
Fortunately, the co-driver of the truck emerged from the incident unscathed.
Police transported the two bodies to the Naivasha sub-county hospital mortuary.
Their damaged car was towed to the police station as a further inquiry into the incident was launched.
The British woman’s family is yet to be notified as her body awaits being lifted back to her home country.
On January 29, 11 passengers died on the spot in a fatal road accident as others sustained injuries along the Nairobi – Kisumu highway after the bus they were traveling in collided with a lorry.
Five others died while receiving treatment at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital bringing the total death toll to 17.
