Babu Owino Appointed Governing Board Member of Weldios University in Benin
On Thursday, February 8, Babu Owino, who serves as the Member of Parliament for Embakasi East, was designated as a member of the governing board of the University of Weldios located in Benin, West Africa.
The institution credited the MP’s appointment to his outstanding abilities, style, and expertise in enhancing the overall welfare of the organization.
The educational institution additionally ascribed the prestigious accolade to his strong moral character, unwavering integrity, and a history of positive contributions to both his local community and the broader African region.
“We await further correspondence of your acknowledgment and subsequent acceptance.” read part of the letter from the University.
In the acceptance letter, Babu Owino praised the university’s dedication to providing opportunities and pledged to actively contribute to the growth of the institution.
“I want to offer my generation’s ideas and insights about the future even as I deep apprentice under the guardianship of seniors in the academy. I do this because I appreciate the value and cardinal role of ideas in fostering development,” Babu Owino stated.

The most recent proposition comes just three months following the MP’s reception of an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Political Leadership from the identical university.
On November 12, 2023, the outspoken lawmaker shared his recent academic success on his X platform, shortly after returning to Kenya from Benin.
“Thanks to the Almighty God for my Honorary Doctorate Degree in Political Leadership from Weldios University in Benin Republic. I’m officially Dr Babu Owino,” he wrote on social media.
Babu Owino received a nomination for an honorary degree in recognition of his significant contributions to society.
“May I, on behalf of the Senate and Board of Weldios University, formally inform you that, upon your nomination and careful evaluation and scrutiny of your profile, antecedence, and contributions to society, The Weldios Selection Committee shall be conferring the prestigious Weldios Honorary Doctorate Degree in Political Leadership at the Weldios University,” read part of the statement.
