Silenced: TV Icon Louis Otieno’s Shocking Battle – Poisoned and Deafened, His Brave Revelation Unveils a Harrowing Journey
Experienced television host Louis Otieno courageously recounted the challenging experience of losing his ability to hear, disclosing alarming information about being poisoned while he was hospitalized.
During an open conversation with Lynn Ngugi, Otieno revealed that he went through several MRI examinations, revealing no physical harm to his ears. However, the results confirmed that poisoning was the reason behind his hearing impairment.
“What scared me was when I did the procedure. They took a series of MRIs and somebody came and told me nothing was wrong with my ears. There was no trace of trauma and disease, I was poisoned,” Otieno said.
The television host shared his bewilderment about the unexpected occurrence of tinnitus, a condition marked by continuous noise in the head.
Despite consulting with medical professionals, Otieno was told that his condition had no remedy, forcing him to handle the symptoms on his own.
Otieno’s troubles commenced when he was admitted to the hospital for a ruptured pancreas, a period during which he underwent a swift deterioration in his ability to hear.

He remembered a troubling interaction with a nurse whom he believed may have been involved in causing his poisoning.
“When I was in the hospital, a pretty-looking nurse came in and I hadn’t seen her before. She asked me why I had refused to sleep and told me I had to sleep. She switched off my TV, drew my curtains, and did something behind me where my drip was coming from. I slept until 7 am. When I woke up I couldn’t hear and that’s how I lost my hearing,” Otieno explained.
In the face of difficulties, Otieno has demonstrated impressive perseverance and resolve in reconstructing his life.
After two years of grappling with deafness, he regained his hearing ability.
He mentioned that throughout the hearing challenge, he faced issues with balance and mobility, finding it challenging to maintain a straight walk or stand for prolonged periods.
