Sam Smith’s BRITs performance is criticized by Ofcom for “devil worship” and a prolonged kiss.
The raunchy performance of Unholy by Sam Smith and Kim Petras at the 2023 Brit Awards has prompted more than 100 Ofcom complaints.
Ofcom has confirmed that over 100 complaints have been lodged regarding The Brit Awards 2023, which took place at The O2 Arena on Saturday.

The ceremony hosted by Mo Gilligan that was broadcast on ITV received a total of 106 complaints.
Sam Smith’s BRITs Performance Sparks Outcry Over ‘Devil Worship’ and Snog. The majority of complaints were directed toward Sam’s rendition of their controversial hit Unholy.
Sam performed at The O2 Arena alongside Kim Petras, with whom they collaborated on the song nominated for Song of the Year.
Ofcom received complaints concerning the use of offensive language and alcohol consumption.
Sam was reportedly furious that their performance at the BRIT Awards was nearly canceled due to technical issues with their ยฃ500,000 set.

The gender-neutral pronoun-using performer is believed to have argued backstage about the malfunctioning set.
Sam was reportedly unimpressed as The BRITs crew attempted to fix technical issues on the set that disrupted the live TV awards ceremony’s schedule and led to the broadcast of Adele’s performance from last year.
Sam was defeated twice by Harry Styles for the BRIT Award for Best Pop/R&B Act and Song of the Year with Kim Petras for Unholy.
In FCC complaints, Sam’s Grammy performance was compared to “devil worship.”
Following the Grammys, 18 complaints were filed with the Federal Communications Commission, according to TMZ.
Some complaints compared the performance of the non-binary singer to devil worship, while others claimed it was anti-Christian and could “increase violence against Christians.”
One complaint said: “It depicted DEVIL-WORSHIPING ACOLYTES writhing on the floor virtually naked and incarcerated. It was aired live on television, and I cannot believe CBS permitted it.”
Another remark: “Sam Smith’s performance featured people being whipped and caged. My musician-aspiring 15-year-old son was traumatized by it.”
