Three More Suspects Charged With Murder Of Meru Blogger ‘Sniper’

Three additional individuals implicated in the killing of Meru blogger Daniel Muthiani, known as ‘Sniper,’ were presented before the Kiambu law courts on Monday.ย

The three suspects, identified as Christus Manyara Kiambi (Chris), Brian Mwenda (Brayo), and Boniface Kithinji Njiiyia (Dj Kaboom), faced charges of murder under Section 203 read with Section 204 of the Penal Code (Cap. 63).

This legal development followed a mental evaluation confirming their competence to stand trial.

The recent arraignment adds to the total count of individuals accused in connection with Sniper’s murder, bringing the tally to five.

In the preceding week, Vincent Muriithi Kirimi (Supuu) and Kenneth Murangiri Guantai (Tali) had been charged with murder in the Kiambu court.

Sniper went missing on December 2, 2023, and his lifeless body was discovered two weeks later.

A post-mortem examination, conducted by Government pathologist Johansen Oduor at the Marimanti Level 4 Hospital mortuary in Tharaka Nithi, Meru County, unveiled the cause of death as strangulation.

Sniper exhibited neck marks indicative of oxygen deprivation, along with fractured ribs and other injuries, suggesting a violent demise.

The legal proceedings underline the seriousness of the charges, highlighting the collaborative effort to bring justice for the murder of the prominent blogger.

The forensic findings from the post-mortem examination play a crucial role in establishing the circumstances surrounding Sniper’s tragic death, with the court now tasked with evaluating the evidence against the newly arraigned suspects.

The entire case underscores the importance of a thorough investigation and legal process to ensure accountability for the perpetrators of such heinous crimes.
