Supreme Court Declines To Proceed With Ksh.2B Land Case Until Lawyer Ahmednasir Exits
On Tuesday morning, the Supreme Court upheld its announcement by refusing to entertain the case of lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi.
On January 18, Ahmednasir was prohibited from presenting himself in the Supreme Court. However, he defied this restriction and showed up in court to act as legal counsel for a family engaged in a legal dispute concerning a Ksh.2 billion land case against the late President Daniel Moi’s family.
In the online court session, Chief Justice Martha Koome stated that the case would not proceed if Ahmednasir or any electronic device associated with the lawyer was involved in the defense proceedings.
In this context, the court postponed the case, with six judges disqualifying themselves from the proceedings as long as Ahmednasir was the designated representative.
The court order, derived from a letter issued by the highest court, prohibits the Senior Counsel from presenting themselves before the court and has officially been implemented.

“It is the decision of this Court, that henceforth and from the date of this Communication, you shall have no audience before the Court, either by yourself, through an employee of your law firm, or any other person holding brief for you, or acting under your instructions,” read the letter sent to Ahmednasir on January 18.
Ahmednasir was prohibited by the Supreme Court due to his persistent criticism and assaults on judges and the judicial system.
“Much as this decision is bound to affect those who may have instructed you to represent them before the Court, it is untenable that you would seek justice in the very institution and before the very Judges, whose reputation and integrity you never tire in assaulting,” the letter drafted by Registrar L.M Wachira detailed.
The attorney has committed to contesting the ruling in the East African Court of Justice.
