‘We Shall Deal Firmly With Corruption!’ President Ruto Sustains Attacks On Judiciary

President William Ruto and his allies have sustained a coordinated attack on the Judiciary, accusing the courts of undermining his administration’s work plan.

Speaking at different functions in Nakuru County on Saturday, the President said the affordable housing project has created jobs for thousands of Kenyans and warned the courts against derailing his plan.

โ€œWe are going to deal firmly with corruption…eti wako na pesa ya kuhongana kortini eti wazuie ajira ya hawa vijana?โ€ He posed.

โ€œNyinyi vijana mnataka muendelee kukaa bila kazi? Mnataka ati matajiri wapeane pesa kwa mahakama nyinyi mkae bila kibarua? Hapana…hao majamaa mambo ni matatu.โ€

Earlier in the day, the Head of State ushered in new tenants to the affordable housing units that are ready for occupation in Nakuru.

The units were advertised last week, with two-bedroom apartments costing approximately Ksh.16,000 in rent.

Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika said: โ€œRais sisi hapa Nakuru affordable housing tunaona matunda yake…why should some people bribe the Judiciary to sabotage this noble agenda of the government?โ€

The President added that his administration is implementing measures to foster industrial growth and ensure it is commensurate with the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), adding that, for now, the country’s collections are heavily being channeled into repayments of debts.

โ€œThis is the time we have to stabilize our economy…we are now keen to lower our tax burden,โ€ he said.

Another Kenya Kwanza team led by Kiharu lawmaker Ndindi Nyoro traversed Marsabit County and joined residents of North-Horr in the issuance of bursaries and dished similar criticism towards the Judiciary.

โ€œWe as the government are ready to change this country once and for all…why should a judge be given taxpayers’ money to rule in your favor? Let justice be free for all,โ€ Nyoro noted.

North Horr MP Wario Guyo noted: โ€œWe want a just country so that our children’s future is not ruined by corrupt court rulings.โ€

On Friday, the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) held protests from the Supreme Court to the Office of the President condemning the unending attacks on the Judiciary.
