Kenya Red Cross Dismisses Notice Advertising Over 3,000 Job Vacancies
On Thursday, January 11, the Kenya Red Cross rejected a notification promoting more than 3,000 job openings within the organization.
The agency issued a statement advising Kenyan citizens to stay vigilant against scammers, emphasizing that the jobs being advertised were fraudulent.
โThe Kenya Red Cross Society warns members of the public not to fall victim to this fake recruitment exercise,โ the statement read.
โStay vigilant and beware of such fraudulent posters.โ
The information circulating on social media brought attention to various job opportunities, including positions such as migration officers, drivers, social workers, accountants, and more. It encouraged Kenyan individuals to submit their applications for these openings by January 15.
As per the fraudulent individuals, there was a requirement for additional personnel from the Red Cross to aid in mitigating the impacts of climate change in Kenya.
โDue to the current inevitable climate change experienced in the nation, Kenya Red Cross Society do hereby advertise for numerous positions,โ the notice further stated.

The clarification was issued one day after the Higher Education and Loans Board (HELB) raised concerns about a false announcement. This misleading notice falsely claimed that the disbursement of funds for education would be temporarily halted, urging students to explore alternative sources for their financial needs.
