    Unveiling the 2023 KCSE Triumph: Ranking Top Schools

    Unveiling the 2023 KCSE Triumph: Ranking Top Schools

    Multiple schools nationwide achieved exceptional results in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams, with prominent academic institutions taking the lead.

    Kabarak High School and Kapsabet Boys High School were among the schools that achieved an average score of 10 or higher, with Kabarak High School scoring 10.4 and Kapsabet Boys High School scoring 10.2.

    62 students achieved an A grade at Kabarak High School, while 155 students attained an A- grade. Additionally, 102 students secured a B+ grade, 60 obtained a B grade, 18 received a B- grade, and 4 students earned a C+ grade.

    Mudasa Academy in Vihiga County achieved an average grade of 10.4, while Light Academy in Mombasa County obtained a mean grade of 10.2, similar to other schools that also had a mean grade of 10.

    In the 2023 examinations, Segero Adventist School in TransNzoia County stood out as one of the highest-achieving schools, attaining an average score of 9.9.

    Baricho High School, situated in Kirinyaga County, achieved an average score of 9.2, with more than 400 students attaining a mean grade of C+ or higher, qualifying them for entry into university.

    Mean Grade of 9

    Several other schools, including Starehe Boys Center (9.5), Friends School Kamusinga (9.3), Lugulu Girls High School (9.3), Kagumo High School (9.3), Butula Boys High School (9.2), and Butere Girls High School (9.1), had an average score of 9.

    Bunyore Girls High School in Vihiga County achieved an average score of 9.1, while Lenana School and St Francis Rang’ala both attained a mean score of 9.0.

    Mean Score of 8

    Some of the schools with an average score of 8 included Kisii School (8.95), Makueni Boys High School (8.91), Precious Blood Riruta (8.8), St Mary’s Girls Igonji (8.8), and Nanyuki Boys (8.8).

    The following schools, including St Peter’s Boys Mumias High School (8.5), Agoro Sare Boys High School (8.5), Nyabururu Girls National School (8.4), Baringo High School (8.3), Chavakali High School (8.1), and Kaaga Girls High School (8.1), fall within this particular category.

    The schools with an average grade of 8.0 included Sironga National School, Ikuu Boys High School, Kyeni Girls High School, and Kenyatta High School Mwatate.

    In the meantime, the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has issued a warning to the public regarding a widely circulated poster that assesses schools’ rankings. The educational authority clarified that they no longer engage in ranking schools.
