Infotrak Report Highlights Priority Areas Kenyans Want to be Addressed in 2024

Kenyans have brought attention to pressing concerns they wish to see tackled in 2024, as revealed in a survey report published by Infotrak on Friday.

The InfoTrak report, based on surveys among Kenyans, identified five key areas of concern that are widely believed to be steering the country in a negative direction, according to many respondents.

The five key areas are;

The cost crunch

Kenyans believe that the increased expenses in daily life are causing worries within households, as families struggle financially to cope with the soaring costs of essential goods.

Increased taxes and rising fuel expenses have impacted both individual travel and business activities, placing a significant burden on individuals due to the minimal returns on investments made in crucial services and infrastructure.

Corruption’s corrosive touch

Corruption stands as a significant issue impacting the efficiency and progress of organizations.

The problem must be tackled as it has deeply rooted itself, impeding the country’s advancement, as per insights gathered from Kenyan survey respondents.

Food security fear

Food insecurity impacts the accessibility of fundamental food items. The government must create strategies to enhance farming methods and mitigate the impacts of climate change.

Poverty’s persistent grip

Kenyans are actively searching for strategies and programs aimed at generating chances for those residing in marginalized regions to combat the persistent rise of poverty.

According to data from the International Labour Organization (ILO), a vast majority—around 80%—of employed individuals in Kenya are experiencing poverty.

Business burden

Infotrack observed that Kenyans desire the government to create conditions conducive to economic growth and the generation of employment opportunities.

The elevated expenses of daily life along with heightened taxation have resulted in an upsurge in business operational expenses, placing a significant burden on entrepreneurs and investors.

In addition to fundamental necessities, Kenyans have also called for enhancements in handling disasters, advancing infrastructure, ensuring access to clean water and energy, and making education and healthcare more affordable.

“By addressing these priorities with transparency, efficiency, and inclusiveness, the nation can move towards a future that meets the aspirations of its people,” InfoTrak advised.
