Gor Held By Nzoia, Stars Sink Bandari As Ulinzi Drop Points

Champions Gor Mahia were on Saturday held to a 2-2 draw by a resolute Nzoia Sugar at the Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay while Ulinzi Stars also dropped points after being held to a one-all-draw by Murang’a Seals at St Sebastien Park.

Elsewhere Nairobi City Stars shone brightest beating Bandari 1-0 while KCB and Talanta played to a barren draw at the Police Sacco Stadium in Nairobi.

At the Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay, Gor Mahia were made to sweat to salvage a point before the home fans as the visiting Nzoia struck twice in the first half, leaving the Green Army in shock.

Joseph Oyugi did the donkey work to set up Barisa Mohamed for Nzoiaโ€™s opener in the 10th minute before Mohamed completed his brace in the 31st minute.

Gor, stung by the quick-fire goals, reorganized and took the game to the opponents, Patrick Kaddu scoring just before the break as Gor trailed 1-2.

Kโ€™ogaloโ€™s lead striker Benson Omalla then equalized the scores from the spot in the 59th minute, as the match ended in shared spoils.

At St Sebastien, visiting Ulinzi scored first through Mark Bikokwa who converted Ben Stanleyโ€™s corner before Awita Batts equalised for the hosts with 11 minutes left.

At the Police Sacco Stadium in Nairobi, Robinson Asenwa scored the all-important goal for the Stars.

Gor remains perched atop the table with 28 points from 14 matches, three ahead of second-placed Posta Rangers who have a game in hand.
