Home Stabbing Incident Results in Arrest

Three children and a woman are in critical condition in hospital, and a woman has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a stabbing at a home in Yorkshire.

West Yorkshire Police confirmed that two boys, a girl, and a woman were discovered with stab wounds after being injured with a “bladed weapon” at the house on Walpole Road.

Officers arrived at the address in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, at 08.02 a.m. after receiving a report of a safety concern from the ambulance service.

When police arrived, they discovered three seriously injured children and a woman with similar injuries.

All four were rushed to the hospital and are being treated while police continue their investigation.

This afternoon, West Yorkshire Police confirmed that a woman had been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

“Enquiries are ongoing today into what has been a serious and distressing incident in Huddersfield, and we fully appreciate the concern it will cause in the local community,” said DCI Sam Freeman of the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team.

“Detectives are investigating the exact circumstances of what occurred, and an arrest has now been made as part of those investigations.”

“Reassurance patrols are being conducted in the local area by officers from the Huddersfield Neighbourhood Policing Team and will continue throughout the day as Kirklees officers work to support colleagues from our HMET team,” said Chief Inspector Rebecca Calpin of Kirklees Police.

Officers cordoned off Walpole Road this morning, and a police scene remained in place on Monday afternoon.

Officers from the Homicide and Major Enquiry Teams, as well as crime scene investigators, are on the scene.

Officers in protective gear were seen conducting investigations in images from the scene.

Meanwhile, a neighbor told Yorkshire Live that she saw several ambulances arrive at the scene this morning.

The woman, who did not want to be identified, stated: “I saw numerous ambulances, doctors, and police vehicles. I saw blue lights and heard sirens and assumed there had been a shooting.”
