Tragic Incident at Epsom College: Head, Husband, and Daughter Found Dead

According to reports, GUNSHOTS were heard before the bodies of a headteacher, her husband, and their young daughter were discovered on school grounds.

Emma Pattison, 45, her partner George, 39, and Lettie, 7, were discovered in the early hours of yesterday at Epsom College in Surrey.

According to a source, a member of staff living nearby called the emergency services around 1 a.m.

Other properties occupied by teachers and school workers are thought to surround the Pattison family home.

It is believed to be near the college’s indoor rifle range, which appeared to be closed this morning.

According to an insider, no live ammunition is kept on the premises.

Police have stated that they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the “isolated” incident at the ยฃ42,000-a-year school, but an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the deaths.

Tragic Incident at Epsom College: Head, Husband, and Daughter Found Dead. Epsom College remains open as usual, but students were herded through the gates and to class this morning.

They will attend chapel services throughout the day, and counseling will be available to all, according to a spokesperson.

Before the morning bell, a staff member told The Sun, “Today will be difficult for everyone.”

The unexpected death of the headmistress and her family shocked the school and community.

Epsom College’s chairman of governors, Dr. Alastair Wells, stated: “I’d like to express our shock and disbelief at this tragic news on behalf of everyone at Epsom College.

“Our hearts go out to Emma’s family, friends, and loved ones, as well as the many students and colleagues whose lives she enriched throughout her distinguished career.

“Emma was a fantastic teacher, but she was also a delightful person.

“In due course, we will commemorate Emma and her family in the appropriate manner and accordance with her family’s wishes.

“However, for the time being, we ask that we all be given the time, space, and respect we require to come to terms with this tragic loss.”

    ‘OUTSTANDING TEACHER’

Emma became the first female headteacher at Epsom College in September 2022, following a six-year stint at Croydon High School in South London.

She revealed late last year that her family had gone through “really big changes” during the transition period, which included two new jobs, a new house, a new school for Lettie, and a new puppy.

“It has been a really big change for my family,” she told sixth-form students on the school podcast Epsom Insight.

“We’ve moved house, we’ve bought a dog, I’ve got a new job, my husband’s got a new job which wasn’t meant to happen but did, and my daughter has started a new school.

“A lot has changed for us as a family, but it’s been wonderful.”

The “beautiful” pup, a Labrador named Bella, joined the family just days before the episode aired.

Bella “barked all night” in the days that followed, forcing Emma to apologize to her neighbors.

Epsom College was named a “beacon of excellence” by the judges of the Independent Schools of the Year Awards 2022.

The school was also named the winner of the Student Wellbeing Award at the October ceremony thanks to its “whole-school approach to mental health and the wellbeing of both its staff and pupils”.

The school, which was founded in 1853, has over 850 boys and girls enrolled, and its acting head been listed as Paul Williams.

Conservative MP Sir Michael Fallon, broadcaster Jeremy Vine, and comedian Tim Vine are among its alumni..
