How Kenyan Man In US Planned For Hitman To Assassinate Family Member
A male individual from Kenya, residing in a hotel located in Putman, Illinois, within the United States, was taken into custody and brought before a court on suspicion of planning the demise of a female relative.
As per the reports, the individual had arranged for a hired killer to administer a substance to the victim, resulting in a prolonged and agonizing death.
He additionally desired for the woman to be terminally ill and deceased within the timeframe of January 28 to February 3, 2024.
Legal papers additionally disclosed that he had strategized her downfall during his trip to Kenya to evade suspicion of masterminding her killing.
The individual under suspicion was conferring with an informant, intending for them to enlist a hitman to carry out the task. Unbeknownst to the suspect, this person was cooperating with the police to unveil the nefarious scheme.
As per the informant, who is currently in a witness protection program, the Kenyan individual traveled back and forth from the United States to Kenya from September 9 to December 1 this year, with intentions to assassinate a family member.
Nevertheless, his intentions were halted by law enforcement when a detective pretended to be the hired killer to lure him out.

According to the legal papers, the officer was instructed by the 52-year-old Kenyan to take the victim on a date and administer drugs to her.
The authorities brought the suspect before the court and accused them of intimidating a witness, conspiring to commit murder, and attempting a crime. As per US legal statutes, anyone proven guilty of plotting to commit murder faces a sentence of life imprisonment.
The ex-bank manager was instructed to post a bond of Ksh763.4 million (equivalent to USD 5 million) due to concerns about fleeing and was also told to hand over any firearms. Additionally, he was prohibited from contacting the victims and required to maintain a distance of 2,500 feet from all individuals specified by the court.
To guarantee his presence in the United States, the 52-year-old Kenyan was requested to hand over his passport and will be under constant surveillance using the Global Positioning System (GPS) while in full-day confinement.
Meanwhile, pleas from the defense attorney to set their client’s bond at Ksh38.1 million (USD250,000) were denied. His case will be mentioned on January 26 next year.
