Shots Fired on Thika Road as Abducted Man Found in Abandoned Prado
Gun-wielding individuals abandoned a Prado vehicle at Kahawa Wendani on Thika Road after being confronted by an internet-based cab driver seeking payment for a collision they were involved in and fled from.
Witnesses asserted that on Sunday evening, the individuals carrying weapons began shooting following the Prado swerving off the road and colliding with a rail barrier.
A short while ago, the driver collided with a stationary taxi parked on the side of the highway in Juja while driving at high speed. Subsequently, the driver hastily left the scene without discussing with the taxi driver about reimbursing for the damages incurred.
Upset by the situation and perceiving arrogance, the taxi driver accelerated and pursued the Prado along the highway, racing from Juja to Kahawa Wendani.
While being pursued, the individuals inside the car began firing shots into the air in an attempt to intimidate the taxi driver. Despite this, the taxi driver refused to yield and persisted in jeopardizing his safety.
Amid the cacophony of gunfire, the taxi driver stated that he could discern cries for assistance emanating from within the Prado. Although he was speeding at maximum velocity, he asserted that he caught sight of the individual in distress adorned in a white vest.
His attempts to obtain reimbursement and aid for the victim compelled the Prado driver to instigate a collision, leaving the car’s passengers vulnerable to an approaching crowd.
According to reports, it was claimed that three individuals, consisting of two men and one person, exited the vehicle and forcibly took control of a motorcycle taxi (boda) before utilizing the motorbike as a means to escape.
They brandished their weapons, causing the boda rider to hastily seek safety, just as the taxi driver was about to close in on them, stranded along the highway.

After a semblance of normality returned, locals hurried to the Prado and discovered a man who was thought to be the car’s owner restrained. There was suspicion that the armed individuals had taken the Prado, abducted the man, and were using him as leverage to extort money from his family.
The locals freed him from the trunk before the police’s arrival and initiated inquiries into the accident, kidnapping, and hit-and-run incidents. Previously, a car dealer had notified authorities about the disappearance of the Prado vehicle and two accompanying individuals.
The businessman stated that the two individuals disappeared on Friday after taking the Land Cruiser to show a potential client.

Speaking to PoliticalPulseChat on Monday, the businessman confirmed that the abducted man was found safe and sound despite being tied behind the car. The second man was also reported safe, but his whereabouts are still unknown.
