Kenya Railways Announces Temporary Disruption of Select Nairobi Train Services

Tuesday morning, hundreds of commuters en route to Nairobi city were adversely affected when Kenya Railways declared a temporary service interruption.

The company issued a warning on its X page regarding the potential disruption of train services between Nairobi Central Station and the Lukenya and Syokimau branches.

As per Kenya Railways, the disruption to the train timetable was attributable to a derailment at Imara Daima, which obstructed the track.

“This morning the train to Nairobi Central Station from Lukenya and Syokimau stations will not run,” read part of Kenya Railways statement.

Additionally, Kenya Railways stated that efforts were being made to resume service to the affected areas.

“Passengers are advised to bear with us and use alternative means. We apologize for the inconvenience caused,” the corporation noted.

“Our technical team is working to restore the derailed train.”
