“A total of 3 rounds of 7.62×51mm were expended,” read part of the police report.

A postmortem examination was pending at the Kiria-ini Mission Hospital Mortuary, where the body of the officer was transferred.

The occurrence contributes to the recent surge in instances of officers committing suicide. It also emphasizes the difficulties encountered by men in uniform while performing their official duties.

The cases have been associated with the officers’ stress and trauma, which can be attributed to the arduous nature of their occupation.
