MP Koech Warns Uhuru: ‘Mind Your Words, We’re Suffering Because of You’
Former president Uhuru Kenyatta should exercise caution when making public statements, according to Nelson Koech, a member of parliament (MP) from Belgium.
He was highlighting remarks made by Mr. Kenyatta during a Sunday service in Mwingi, Kitui County, in which he criticized President William Ruto for attributing the failure and weak economy of his government to him.
“I do not want to say much… not because I fear…I stopped fearing. We have been threatened and told a lot of things. Every time someone fails, they say ‘Oh! The previous government,” Uhuru told congregants.
“Tomorrow when women fail to give birth they will say ‘You know Uhuru did it’. I don’t know, but I am used to it.”
Monday morning on Citizen TV’s daybreak program, Koech accused Uhuru of single-handedly precipitating the current economic crisis in Kenya and advised him not to deflect any blame attributed to him by Ruto’s government.
“For Uhuru to come out boldly yesterday and say ‘don’t blame me’ then he needs to be very careful on the statements that he makes, we are hurting because of him, he is the president we will want to forget,” said Koech.
“Let him go and sit where he is and should not come out and remind Kenyans of who he was and people are clapping when Kenyatta is telling them that yet he is the one who singularly masterminded the failure of this country.”

The lawmaker continued by advising Uhuru to transition his focus from politics to alternative endeavors during his retirement.
This represents the most recent political muddle that leaders have descended into, as the Kenya Kwanza has repeatedly attributed their present misfortunes to the previous administration.
On multiple occasions, Ruto and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua have expressed the view that the shortcomings of Uhuru’s regime have contributed to the current challenges that Kenyans are confronting.
Transport Cabinet Secretary (CS) Kipchumba Murkomen, who on November 14, when heavy rains caused leakage on the roofs of Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), attributed the airport’s dilapidated condition to substandard workmanship during Uhuru’s administration, is among the other leaders who have shifted blame to the previous administration.
