KNEC Warns Of Fake KCSE Papers Being Circulated Online

The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has cautioned candidates sitting the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations to be cautious of fake exam papers being circulated on various social media platforms.

KNEC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr. David Njengere has confirmed that the examination papers being circulated on social media platforms are not genuine and are only meant to deceive those sitting KCSE.

“I can assure you that there is no single genuine paper that can circulate on those social media platforms. All they have is fake papers,” said Njegere.

He said the new guidelines put in place by the Ministry of Education to curb exam malpractices are working well, and the exam council is determined to conduct credible results.

Njegere revealed that 46 cases of malpractices have so far been reported in the country saying the number has no significance in tainting the integrity of the exam.

Meanwhile, the KNEC CEO said various measures have been employed to ensure schools in areas affected by ongoing heavy rains get their examination papers on time.

As the national exams enter week two, Njegere has hailed center managers and security officers for their cooperation throughout the exercise.

“The double collection of morning and afternoon papers has helped to curb the challenge of early exposure of second session paper,” said Njegere in a press address on Monday.
