Gachagua Claps Back: DP Fires Shots in Epic Duel with Malema Over Ruto
On Saturday, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua issued a response in response to South African opposition Member of Parliament Julius Malema’s condemnation of President William Ruto’s unfounded pledges.
The DP criticized Malema of the Economic Freedom Fighters during a church service at St Thomas Girls Secondary School in Kilifi, stating that South Africa faced greater economic challenges than Kenya.
“I have seen a man from South Africa. He doesn’t even know about Kenya and is talking about it,” Gachagua trolled Malema, who identifies himself as a Pan-Africanist.
“I want to advise foreigners that when they visit countries, let them respect leaders from the countries they are visiting. Likewise, we have also traveled abroad but have never been insulted.”
Malema, a reputable political leader in South Africa, had allegedly failed to provide viable solutions to the problems that South Africans were confronted with, according to Gachagua.
Malema, according to Gachagua, also pretended to be all-knowing, particularly about international politics.
“If you are saying that Kenya is bad, then why come here? This guy arrived in Kenya in the morning, and by noon, he had known all the affairs of the county?” Gachagua wondered.
Gachagua asserts that power rationing was one of the challenges South Africa was confronting, a fact he observed during his recent sojourns in the nation. The DP asserted that power rationing in South Africa during a seven-hour outage in December 2022 trapped him.

Therefore, he requested that visitors refrain from meddling in Kenyan affairs, concentrate on their plans, and return home peacefully.
Malema arrived in Nairobi on Thursday to attend the inauguration of the Pan African Institute at Lukenya University in Makueni County.
The Institute, which advocates for continental integration, is a lobbying organization supported by young legislators from throughout the continent.
In his address to a gathering of Pan-Africanists, Malema censured President Ruto for not keeping the commitments he made to the Kenyan people during his campaign.
“I don’t know if President William Ruto means it because he said so many things, and I cannot locate him these days because the things he said during elections and the things he is doing now are two different things,” Lamema condemned Ruto.
Furthermore, he expressed disapproval of the recent State visit of King Charles III, contending that Africans were permanently scarred by colonialists.
