Countdown to Knowledge: PS Belio Kipsang Unveils 2023 KCPE Release Date!

Principal Secretary of Education Belio Kipsang has postponed the publication date of the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education examination so that the government may have sufficient time to organize the high school placements of candidates.

Kipsang, speaking at Naivasha Girls High School as part of an inspection tour to monitor the ongoing KCSE examinations, provided candidates with the assurance that the release date for their results will be November 30, 2023.

Prior to the holiday season, the ministry had planned to disclose the results in a previous communique.

โ€œ2023 KCPE results to be released by November 30 to allow for secondary schoolsโ€™ placement and to aid parents in readying school fees,โ€ the PS revised the dates.

“It will also give parents ample time to prepare for school fees amid harsh economic times,” he added.

The examination period for the KCPE and KPSEA was from October 30, 2023, to November 1, 2023.

A minimum of 1,415,315 candidates have taken the KCPE examinations and are awaiting the results; 1,282,574 candidates have taken the KPSEA.

Following its inception 38 years ago, the KCPE examination was the last to be administered in the nation due to the transition to the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).

In the interim, candidates in Form 4 are presently engaged in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) national examinations, which commenced on October 23 and are scheduled to conclude on November 24.

PS Kipsang praised the efforts made to prevent exam irregularities, such as the double collection of KCSE exam scripts, during his tour of Naivasha Girls.

The PS was accompanied by Rose Mwangi, the principal of the school, Nakuru County Director of Education Victoria Mulili, and Subcounty Deputy Commissioner Kisilu Mutua.
