ODM MP Calls for Ruto to Axe Cabinet, Spare Only 4 CSs

MP Caleb Amisi of Saboti has entered the ongoing discourse regarding demands to impeach CS Moses Kuria of the Public Service.

The ODM representative demanded in a statement released on Wednesday that President William Ruto dismiss his entire cabinet.

The member of parliament, however, suggested that the President spare four of his current CSs to serve in the transitional cabinet.

“The entire cabinet must go and leave Musalia Mudavadi, CS Susan Nakhumicha, Kithure Kindiki, and Njuguna Ndungu on the caretaker desk,” Amisi added.

Moreover, the ODM lawmaker confronted those who demanded CS Kuria’s impeachment, inquiring about their whereabouts during the parliamentary discussion on the vetting report.

Member of Parliament Amisi unequivocally declared that the Azimio coalition will abstain from participating in the disputes that the CSs and senators are involved in.

“Where were you when we in the Azimio vetting team presented a report against cabinet nominees last year? You were ululating on top of your voices. Azimio will not be part of a rich kids’ baseball game,” he added.

His statement follows on Wednesday the impeachment demands of Senators from both Kenya Kwanza and Azimio for Public Service CS Moses Kuria.

Following the CS’s criticism of the Senators regarding the ongoing indictment of Governor Kawira Mwangaza, this transpired.

Senators Stewart Madzayo and Aaron Cheruyiot, the leader of the majority, issued a warning that Kuria had made an effort to disrupt the impeachment hearing.

Senator Cheruyiot asserted that the CS caused the Kenya Kwanza government and President William Ruto disgrace.

Senator Otieno Kajwang of Homa Bay urged his colleagues in the National Assembly to present the impeachment motion during the August House, as this is the legally mandated period to do so.

“I want to urge the members of the other house because they are the ones who have the responsibility of censoring and sending serious judicial notice of the conduct of this particular cabinet secretary,” he said.

Senator Edwin Sifuna of Nairobi, for his part, proposed:

“One of the things that I asked myself is just how much embarrassment does the President have to endure?” he posed.

Sifuna urged the Senators to act before incurring further disgrace.

Tuesday evening, Senate Speaker Amason Kingi issued a cautionary statement to the CS regarding his remarks regarding the Senate proceedings concerning the impeachment of the governor of Meru.

Consequently, he advised Kuria against expressing any additional views regarding the impeachment, neglecting which would result in his apprehension.

โ€œI, therefore, caution Moses Kuria, Cabinet Secretary in the Ministry of Public Service, Performance and Delivery Management, and all other persons to desist from adversely making utterances whether written or spoken with the conduct of the impeachment process which may prejudice the just and fair disposal of the present matter,โ€ Kingi noted.

CS Moses Kuria had previously stated on his X page that the allegations leveled against Governor Mwangaza of Meru do not support her impeachment.
