Raila’s State House presence shouldn’t be misinterpreted – Kalonzo

Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has said that Azimio leader Raila Odinga’s presence at State House during the State banquet should not be taken out of context.

On Tuesday, Raila joined a host of leaders in attending a State banquet organized in honor of King Charles III and Queen Camilla’s visit to Kenya.

The banquet was hosted by President William Ruto and Mama Rachel.

Speaking on Wednesday, Kalonzo said some leaders of certain ranks are eligible to be invited when influential leaders visit the country.

He compared Raila’s State House presence with his when he attended a dinner during the Africa Climate Action Summit.

“At the level of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, I can tell you some of us are on a standing list that we would be invited in the event of an important guest like his Majesty King Charles. It should not be seen beyond that,” he said.

It was the first time the ODM leader was being seen at State House, Nairobi after the 2022 General Elections.

Members of parliament, Governors, Senators, and senior government officials are also present.

The King and Queen Camilla arrived in Kenya on Monday night for a four-day state visit to the country.
