KDF Strikes Terrorist Base in Mission Foil
New information has emerged regarding officers of the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) who effectively prevented an impending attack.
The officers, who were a member of a multi-agency team, raided an Al Shabaab operating base in Garissa County.
Somalian media outlet Garowe reported on Thursday that the terror suspects had been dispatched to Kenya to plant improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
During the operation, the multi-agency teams recovered essential items, such as cornmeal, sugar, and water, that the terrorist suspects required for survival.
Al Shabaab’s primary bases in Middle Jubba were simultaneously attacked on Tuesday by several Somalian Government-aligned troops.
The raid included personnel from the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) and the United States Africa Command.
This attack was part of a raid in Jubaland and the Southwest States, where the militia organizations are believed to have been hiding for years.

“With the support of international security partners, the National Armed Forces carried out planned operations targeting Al Shabaab terrorists’ bases in Bu’ale, Sakow, and Jilib,” read the statement from the Somali Government.
“Careful intelligence analysis revealed the bases, including a weaponry depot. Initial reports indicate that the terrorists suffered a huge loss.”
Midway through September, a Kenyan multi-agency team invaded an al Shabaab camp in Garissa and neutralized four militants planning an attack on Kenyan forces.
The morning assault on the Al Shabaab camp was orchestrated by specialized officers who had received information about the militants’ operation from members of the public.
“Officers seized IED materials, ammunition, and medical supplies. Several militants also escaped with bullet injuries,” the KDF statement read.
“These supplies could have been used to treat wounded Al Shabaab fighters, so their removal will make it more difficult for the group to sustain its operations.”
