Erick Maigo’s Father Speaks on Son’s Death at Burial

Slain Nairobi Hospital staff Erick Maigo’s father mourned his son as a good and caring man who may have been killed as a result of his kindness.

Speaking during the burial of his son in Kisii County, Zebedeo Onchari expressed that the family was distraught by the death of their kin wondering what may have caused their son to die in such a manner.

Onchari noted that the family was yet to come to terms with the murder of their son adding that his son could not have done any harm to someone else.

He also called on Kenyans to pray for the family underlining that the finance officer was a pillar in their extended family.

“He is our son and we know him. I cannot imagine what wrong he could do to anyone for them to murder or eliminate him. Because we know that he was a kind person, we believe that is what killed him.

On the other hand, he called for justice for his son even as the police moved to conclude their investigations into his untimely death.

Onchari also expressed gratitude to Kenyans and Maigo’s friends and family as they have been supporting them during this time.

“We were traumatized and were wounded. We could not stand on our own. Our world collapsed. We have cried and mourned.

“My only request before I introduce the family is to put us in your prayers. Find a moment and pray for the will of Eric,” he stated.

Maigo’s mother Dinah Onchari on her part was too distraught to speak. However, in her eulogy, she mourned her son describing him as her light.

Investigations into Maigo’s death are yet to be concluded even as a 16-year-old girl is being held by the police as the main suspect.

The suspect will be detained for 21 days to allow the police to complete their investigations.
