Kindiki Goes After Goons Who Disrupted Governor Mwangaza’s Event
Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki has ordered law enforcement to apprehend and prosecute those responsible for destroying the event of Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza.
During the event in Maua Igembe South where Mwangaza was distributing domestic items as part of the Okolea Program, the suspects attacked.
During the altercation, the assailants slaughtered a cow intended for donation and set fire to mattresses intended for distribution.
Kindiki stated that the police would investigate the organizers, accomplices, and financiers of the violence that occurred on Sunday.
“Citizens, including political leaders of all ranks and all political parties or formations, must carry out their activities lawfully and peacefully without exception,” he stated.

Kindiki emphasized that there will be zero tolerance for violence, as it undermines national security and the rule of law.
Mwangaza, for her part, decried the incident and the violence exhibited by the disorderly youth in the area.
During the event, they blocked roads and hurled stones, compelling the police to disperse the crowd with tear gas.
She added that it was unethical to disrupt a charity event whose purpose was to aid the needy.
“We strongly believe that the perpetrators of these heinous acts need to face the full force of the law,” she stated.
She urged security agencies to prevent a recurrence of the incident and hold those responsible accountable.
However, the governor emphasized that she will continue to assist in the region as a means of bettering their circumstances. She encouraged other well-wishers to support the initiative and assist in elevating the disadvantaged in society.
