Raila Discusses Junet’s No-Show at Azimio Gathering

Friday, former prime minister Raila Odinga commented on the absence of Suna East representative Junet Mohamed from Azimio meetings.

During his tour of Migori County, Raila disclosed that he had enlisted his ally to perform some of his errands, without elaborating on the specific duties assigned to the lawmaker.

In addition to revealing that the MP had been in Europe, the ODM leader disclosed that he had spent time with him during his visit to the United Kingdom last month.

He added that his ally was fine and would shortly make an appearance in public.

During the meeting, he asserted that Junet was one of the party’s most trusted lieutenants, despite rumors regarding the MPs’ absence from Raila events.

“There is a young man who has worked very hard for the party and his name is Junet. He was unable to come today but I was with him the other day in the UK and I have sent him somewhere else. I hope you will accept his greeting,” he stated.

The ODM leader made the remarks while traversing Mohamed’s neighboring Suna West constituency, even though Mohamed’s whereabouts remain unknown.

June was last seen on August 3, when he addressed Parliament about the controversial Worldcoin at a public event in the country.

On social media, his last activity was on July 23 when he flagged false posts castigating ODM for the demonstrations against the government.

However, on August 21, he was photographed alongside the former British prime minister during Arsenal’s match against Crystal Palace in the English Premier League.

Junet’s absence from Azimio’s events has sparked rumors of a potential rift between him and other of the ODM leader’s closest allies.

Notably, Mohamed did not participate in any of the July opposition demonstrations.
