Trade Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria on Thursday revealed that Azimio leader Raila Odinga is scheduled to host him in Bondo, Siaya County next week to launch an industrial park in the region.

Kuria stated during the inauguration of an industrial park in Trans Nzoia County that the agreement was reached after the two held discussions and the former prime minister agreed to his request.

The CS stated his intention to use the opportunity to educate the opposition leader on development-related matters.

“Recently, we were with Raila and I asked him if he can host me at his home area and he agreed. I might teach him a thing or two about development,” Kuria said.

In addition, the CS revealed that the Kenya Kwanza government would serve all Kenyans equally, regardless of how they voted in the most recent elections.

The Cabinet Secretary added that he would launch development initiatives in other counties, including Homa Bay, Kisii, Kisumu, and Migori, during the following week.

In his speech, Kuria urged the governor of Trans Nzoia, George Natembeya, to join the Kenya Kwanza government so that his constituents can enjoy a cordial working relationship with the national government.

Natembeya serves as the Democratic Action Party (DAP-K) coalition’s deputy leader.

“Governor Natembeya, have you seen a fish floating on air? He was mentored by Michuki during his early years so letting him stay in the opposition is the wrong move, he belongs in the Kenya Kwanza government,” he noted.

The former representative for Gatundu South also explained that the government was committed to delivering on its commitment to create employment opportunities through the establishment of the industrial park.

He instructed the contractors to construct the industrial park within seven months so that he could attract foreign investors to invest in the project.

“We are beginning with Ksh500 million for the project. I give you seven months to complete it so that we launch it on the fourth month of the coming year.

“My work is to bring in investors which will thus create 30,000 job opportunities in this county. It’s not possible that Trans Nzoia produces 25 per cent of the maize in Kenya and yet the residents lack jobs,” he added.
