    Kalonzo’s Dialogue Team Absence: Explanation

The Wiper Party leader, Kalonzo Musyoka, was conspicuously absent from the Monday bipartisan talks conducted at Bomas to discuss crucial national issues.

Given that he occupies the co-chair position with National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah, the absence of the former Vice President drew the attention of many.

Fredrick Okang’o, KANU’s Secretary for Political Affairs, who has been attending Azimio meetings, explained to GossipA2Z.com that Kalonzo has left the country, which explains his absence.

“Kalonzo has apologized to the committee because he is abroad for personal reasons,” Okang’o disclosed.

The official explained that Kalonzo’s camp informed Azimio that he would be unable to attend the meeting.

In Kalonzo’s absence, Azimio has appointed Ugenya MP Opiyo Wandayi to co-chair the meeting, reiterating Okang’o’s assertion that there will be no leadership void.

“The National Minority Leader serves as the Deputy Co-Chair. “As soon as Kalonzo flies back into the country, he will resume his position,” said the official.

However, Okang’o did not disclose the country to which Kalonzo had flown, citing privacy concerns.

In addition to Kalonzo Musyoka, Senator Aron Cheruiyot of Kericho was also conspicuously absent from Bomas, the location of the Bipartisan discussions.

Raila Odinga’s one-week visit to the United Kingdom coincided with Kalonzo’s absence.

It is unknown whether Kalonzo traveled to the United Kingdom to confer with Azimio leader Raila Odinga. The former prime minister described his trip to the United Kingdom as a well-deserved vacation.

The significance of today’s meeting at Bomas lies in the fact that technical teams from both sides were anticipated to reach an agreement on the agenda before the two political camps could continue their dialogue.

Following the meeting, the dialogue team addressed the media to announce that they had agreed on ten crucial agenda items for discussion.

The committee has scheduled another meeting for Friday, August 25, during which they will determine the order of priority for the 10 identified items.
