2 GSU Officers Dead Heading to Man KCPE Exams in Garissa
At least two General Service Unit (GSU) officers were slain on Monday when their vehicle ran over an Improvised Explosive Device (IED).
According to reports, the officers were on their way to Garissa to provide security for those taking the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE).
Several additional officers were injured and transported to the Dadaab Hospital for emergency care.
The assault took place at Ege Dam along the road between Dadaab and Garissa, leaving several officers in critical condition.
The catastrophe caused damage to the front portion of the vehicle.
Al Shabaab militants who have launched attacks in the northern portion of the country are suspected of planting the IED.
Several defenseless Kenyans have perished as a result of the widespread Al Shabaab attacks in the north.

The government, represented by Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki and his Defence counterpart Aden Duale, has pledged to put an end to the attacks and bring all of the perpetrators to justice.
In October, Kindiki published the names and photographs of the 35 most-wanted terrorists responsible for numerous Kenyan attacks.
As national examinations begin in the country, several obstacles have arisen, particularly in certain regions where heavy rainfall has impeded the transport of exam materials.
President William Ruto and Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu visited a school in Kiambu County on Monday to pray for the students before their examinations.
“Be confident and do your best. Carry out the exam knowing very well we have an opportunity for every child of Kenya as you move to the next stage,” Ruto remarked.
